Olivia Burton, 23, moves to California with her boyfriend, Francis Morales, 24, who goes against the wishes of their families. Francis’ mother, Lillian, is a devout Catholic who disapproves of her son’s cohabitation and expresses her feelings in the form of violent, religious-themed postcards. Despite their objections, the young lovers settle into their exciting new life together. However, their happiness is cut short when a freak accident leaves Francis physically and mentally injured. He soon begins to suffer from night terrors – whispering in his dreams to a figure Olivia cannot see and sleepwalking to strange corners of the house. These episodes frighten Olivia and also suggest that Francis is hiding something from her. Her investigation leads to a terrifying and perverse discovery; They are haunted by the ghost of Francis’ childhood youth minister – an entity angered by their coexistence and come to punish them for their sins.
