Synopsis
Following the events of The Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, aka The Penguin, is trying to take over Gotham’s criminal underworld. Aside from a Bat-Signal in the final shot of the season finale, we never got our Robert Pattinson cameo in “The Penguin.” This short film from IMDb tries to answer: Where the hell was Batman?. Colin Farrell fought tooth and nail to get his version of The Penguin to smoke tobacco in The Batman (2022), but he failed. However, in his own series, the character is portrayed as an occasional tobacco user, preferring cigars.
Farrell STEALS this show
The umbrella falls and the logo changes to the Warner Bros. logo. Appears in Graham Norton and guest stars: Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti (2024). He’s impressive.
The show is raw and graphic
There is nothing about the character that even suggests Farrell. The New York dialect, the swaying and limping, the posture: you could swear it was a different person. The incredible prosthetics are very realistic and add character. There is nothing cartoonish about it.
Well written and taut
It is a great equivalent to Christopher Nolan’s Batman. In fact, I would say it destroys the Marvel line. I hope there is a season 2, but I know it is limited. It is a shame.
