Synopsis

A government scheme allows recently widowed Santosh to inherit her husband’s job as a police officer in the arid rural lands of northern India. When a low-caste girl is found raped and murdered, she becomes involved in the investigation under the wing of charismatic feminist Inspector Sharma.
