Synopsis

After being released from prison after 25 years, New York mob boss Dwight “The General” is released. Sylvester Stallone’s first starring role in a television series. Non-descript character: Where do you worship Dwight “The General”? Manfredi: I really don’t go to church.

The opening credits sequence shows various photographic and painted views and landmarks of Oklahoma imposed on the New York City landscape: a statue of Sioux Indian Chief “Touch the Clouds” and a statue of Sioux Indian Chief. wearing a war bonnet and Bone Choker imposed on top of the Brooklyn Bridge. Route 66 Western Gateway Arch imposed on a major Manhattan “avenue”. In New York City, within the borough of Manhattan, there are several numbered “avenues.” which are crisscrossed by smaller numbered streets.

I don’t think any other actor could have played this role. Sly is bigger than the small screen and he gave the best lines in this series. I’ve only seen the 1st episode on YT, I don’t have Paramount, but if there are more released on YT I’ll definitely see it. His supporting cast is anonymous, I didn’t recognize any of the other actors.

And filming in Tulsa gives the show a “flavor” vs. I think Stallone hit his prime with the Creed movies and this TV series. Age is doing him good. Glad he’s away from those action movies, which I think he’s outgrown.
