Penguin, makes a show to seize the reins of Gotham’s underworld

Synopsis

After the events of Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, a.k.a. Except for the bat signal in the last shot of the season finale, we never got a Robert Pattinson cameo in “The Penguin.” In this short video, IMDb tries to answer: Where the hell was Batman?. Colin Farrell fought hard to land his smoking tobacco version of The Penguin in Batman (2022), but failed.

However, his own series portrays the character as an occasional tobacco user who prefers cigars. The umbrella falls and the logo changes to the Warner Bros logo. Graham Norton as Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti (2024).

It also perfectly captures the film’s aesthetic and dark tone, although the show has many more moments of sly levity than the film

The first episode is a direct continuation of Matt Reeves & # 39; Batman and I imagine those who haven’t seen the latter will be a bit lost. But I watched Batman a while back and this show did an amazing job of quickly introducing me to where the movie left off without getting bogged down in a didactic recap. As in Batman, Colin Farrell does an excellent job portraying the Penguin as a stereotypical mobster "street guy:" impolite, rude, animalistic and quick to violence; but also smart, cunning and able to read people.

But so far it’s off to a great start

The character may have absolutely nothing to do with the comic book version, but he’s interesting in his own right. I have my doubts about the show giving Penguin a teenage sidekick; and I don’t know if The Penguin’s machinations will be enough to last a full season.
