I don’t understand what you guys expected

Synopsis

Adaptation of the James Patterson novel series about the complicated and brilliant detective Alex Cross. In episode 2, Cross tells Sampson that he smells like “mothballs and old spice.” In real life, Isaiah Mustafa was featured in the big Old Spice ads as “the man your man could smell like.” I really don’t understand the low ratings and the very harsh words about the show. It makes me wonder if there are other intentions behind those ratings.

The show is beautifully shot, with great cinematography, direction, music, and stylistic choices based on DC

The depth of Alex Cross as a character is immediately apparent, as is his flow as any other human being. He tries to navigate the death of his wife while dealing with grief, a serial killer case, and someone stalking his family. The supporting cast also does a great job, and I like how you can watch two stories at once.

Is that something that hasn’t been done before?

There are moments where you don’t know where the story is going and twists and turns you never would have expected. No, but it’s done well for the most part. Now, there are a few plot holes that make you kind of question things, but they’re not big enough to stop you from watching the show.

The acting is excellent and Aldis is a scene-stealer

If I had to recommend one thing, and the producers read this, next season focus a little more on his background in forensic psychology. We’re not just talking about a detective who took a few classes in profiling, we’re talking about a guy with a PhD in psychology, a PhD in forensic psychology. Don’t reduce that trait to the cute “I know how killers think” thing that’s been done over and over again.
